It was built in the middle of the village at the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries, almost 2 km from the sea. At first the church belonged to Catholics, but after the Reformation it became an Evangelical church until the end of its days. Abrasive processes meant that the sea shore was constantly approaching the building. The last service was held at the church on March 2, 1874. The temple's equipment was transported to the cathedral in Kamień Pomorski, and part of the historic triptych can be seen in the church in Rewal. In 1901 its first part collapsed. Today only a fragment of the southern wall remains. Currently intensive work is underway to protect the ruins from storms. It is the only tourist attraction of this type in Europe.
