Between Połczyn-Zdrój and Czaplinek there is very interesting and one of the most picturesque places in Pomerania. This is the so-called Połczyn Switzerland. In the center of this area is the Landscape Reserve of the Five Lakes Valley. A beautifully shaped postglacial gutter with steep slopes covered with parts of a nice beech forest. This is where the Drawa river originates, which flows through five small lakes: Krzywe, Krąg, Długie, Głębokie and Małe. They were protected within the borders of the landscape reserve. A nature trail of around 5 km has been created around the lakes. The path runs along dirt roads and forest paths. Its course is marked with posts with a logo. In the middle of the route there is a possibility to visit a forest car park located on the opposite side of the asphalt road. There is a roofed rest area and toilet. Here you can find high moraine hills surrounding a deep glacial trough and five lakes formed as a result of melting ice due to global warming. On the slopes of the hills, erratic boulders of various sizes can often be found. The valley landscape resembles a mountain landscape, hence the name of this area "Połczyn Switzerland". 2. Buczyna - a forest community whose stand consists mainly of ordinary beech. These types of forests are found only in the mountains and in Pomerania. Beech has a special charm, powerful bright trunks and branches of trees contrast with the dark green of the leaves and plung the forest floor into mysterious darkness. In spring, when more light reaches the lowest part of the forest, it blooms with carpets of snowdrops; golden and anemones. 3. Orchids - are undoubtedly the pride of moist meadows, peat bogs and bright forests. Their grape inflorescences lure insects through eye-catching flower shapes. All domestic species of orchids are subject to complete species protection. If you meet orchids along the route - don't pick them - let other tourists get to know their beauty too! 4. Lakes - Nature has created something extraordinary. Five small gutter lakes connect in turn the Drawa River. The lakes are an interesting hydrological and biocenotic system. They are picturesquely inscribed in the surrounding landscape. Here you can find protected plant species: yellow waterlily and white waterlily. By the shore of the lakes there is a Wawrzynek Werewolf. The carmine, strong-smelling laurel flowers appear in March herald the beginning of spring. The waters of the lakes along with the coastal vegetation are a place of existence and breeding of waterfowl: mute swans, great crested grebes and coot. The nature path ends at the Małe Lake. You can rest here and dine on your own packed lunch in a specially prepared place. You can easily observe the lake, the last of the Five Lakes and the Drawa River flowing out of it. The reserve can be reached from Połczyn or Czaplinek by the beautiful scenic voivodship road No. 163, which meanders in a deep green gorge. It is colloquially called the Polish Road of Hundred Curves.
