Address: Waly Chrobrego 1/4 , 70-500 Szczecin

Wały Chrobrego is one of the most popular monuments in Szczecin. Their original name is Taras Hakena, used until 1945. It is a historic observation deck, 500 meters long, located on the embankment along the Oder. The designer of the facility was Wilhelm Meyer-Schwartau, built in 1902–1921 on the order of the mayor of Herman Haken. Wały Chrobrego is situated in an excellent vantage point, in the vicinity of the National Museum in Szczecin, the Pomeranian Dukes' Castle and the cathedral. St. Jacob. A wide panorama opens from here on the right bank of the Oder, its arms and port canals, the islands: Grodzka, Bielawa and Łasztownia, the port and further north to Lubczyna, and in the south towards Podjuchy and Bukowe Mountains. The terraces are finished with small squares. The main terrace of Szczecin's ramparts is supported by a retaining wall. In its center is a stone statue, symbolizing the fight of a man with a centaur. The author of the sculpture is Ludwig Manzl. On the wall you can see the coats of arms of Pomeranian cities. An interesting point of Wały Chrobrego is the fountain, in front of which there are two towers with special lighting, reminiscent of those from lighthouses. From Wały Chrobrego it is very easy to go to the Odra beaches, because on both sides of the route complex there are magnificent stairs. There could also be a charming park.
