This object is an incredible treat for those to whom the subject of World War II is not foreign. The fortifications are amazing and you can still see the spirit of warfare in them. The battery was built in 1938-1939, as were the other facilities that together formed the coastal protection team. Goeben Coastal Battery was the most powerful battery on our coast with a firepower that was not seen at the time on the Baltic coast. The battery included a bell-shaped command tower on top of which was an artillery rangefinder. An artillery stand 2.5 kilometers away coupled to the command tower, which prevented enemy ships from seeing the gun flash. In 1940, artillery positions were dismantled and transported to Norway. The command tower was shaped like a lighthouse and thanks to its ideal location it was possible to locate enemy ships from up to 50 km. Many buildings that are part of the battery have survived to this day. In 2001, the renovation of the tower began, the armored dome in which the rangefinder was located was dismantled, and in its place an observation tower with a light skeleton structure was erected. The facility is located on the educational trail of the Fortification Trail of the Świnoujście Fortress.
